We live in a corporate culture that targets the innocence of our children. When nothing matters except making a dollar the morality in society will continue spiraling out of control until it no longer exists.

We recognize that the commercialization of childhood issue is prevalent. Now we decide which direction we want to move in. We can continue approving the pile up of consumerism on our kids, or we can move toward a less obtrusive equilibrium. After all, kids are helpless in this arena and should not be left to fend for themselves. It’s up to us to decide what kind of world we want them to grow up in.

This is an example of when regulation may be needed, but we need to be careful. If we ask the Government to interfere in our markets, they will surely disrupt commerce negatively. Perhaps even in a way to reach more profits for their select corporate interests. Instead of asking for regulation we could take the responsibility in our own hands and use the parental free will of purchasing power to influence the childhood commercial market.
